About Us

Made In Oregon History

It all started with a conversation between Made In Oregon founder Sam Naito and a Port of Portland Commissioner about ideas for stores in the Portland International Airport. Fifty years ago, nobody thought a store that sold only Oregon made products was possible. As an Oregon native, Sam knew there was an opportunity to showcase locally made goods and was committed to bringing the Made In Oregon concept to life. A few months later, he did just that.

Made In Oregon's first store opened at Portland International Airport in 1975. Since then we have worked hard to build a trusted reputation as a source for high-quality products that are made, designed, or grown in Oregon. We now have 8 retail stores located in Portland, Salem, Woodburn, Newport and Eugene. Made In Oregon was also one of the first retailers to expand into e-commerce, launching our original online store in 1997.

From locally loved food brands to unique Oregon keepsakes and souvenirs, our collection includes many gifting options and unique products you won't find in big-box stores. We have snacks and sweets to satisfy any craving. Find all your local favorites in one place like smoked salmon, roasted hazelnuts, premium Oregon jams, Moonstruck chocolates and more. Our thoughtfully curated Gourmet Gift Baskets and Oregon Wine Gift Sets are sure to impress no matter what the occasion.

Made In Oregon is family-owned and committed to our Oregon roots. Since the beginning, we have supported and helped develop the Oregon economy by sourcing and selling artisan and farm products. We are proud to have a hand in helping our fellow Oregonians and small makers grow their businesses, and to introduce new people to the incredible bounty Oregon has to offer.
