Pendleton Seven Springs Wool Blanket, Queen

This blanket honors the rich tradition of overshot weaving, a technique introduced to America by Scottish weavers, many of whom made their home in the small town of Seven Springs, North Carolina. Its squared pattern reflects the intricate designs of classic coverlets, traditionally hand-loomed using a white warp in the four-harness overshot method.

Early weavers cultivated flax and cotton, raised sheep for wool, and used natural dyes to create vibrant colors. Today, their Appalachian craftsmanship is preserved in museums, celebrating a timeless art form. Napped with whipstitch binding.
